Grant Guidelines

General Requirements

The Foundation makes grants to 501(c)(3) public charities. Charities selected must engage in or support programs that are aligned with our mission and purposes as outlined in the Foundation’s Mission Statement. We will consider making grants only to organizations providing programs that fit within the Foundation’s mission and purposes. The Board of Directors expects to meet at least twice a year to review grant proposals and make decisions regarding grant distributions.

Grants Made by the Foundation

We fund organizations that address the areas of interest as detailed in our Mission Statement:
  • Health
  • Education
  • Housing

Grants That the Foundation Will Not Make

The Foundation will not make grants to international organizations or to for-profit businesses. The foundation does not typically make grants for the following purposes. Requests to fund the following are likely to be denied:
  • Computers or software
  • Audio or video equipment
  • Designing and producing videos
  • Recreational programs
  • Dinners, balls, or other fundraising events
  • Political lobbying activities, or other political purposes
  • Local, state or federal governments
  • Gifts to individuals
  • Purposes outside of the Foundation’s mission and funding priorities 

Grant Duration

Grants may be awarded for one or more years from the award date. Grant recipients are required to use the funds only for the purposes for which the grant is made during this period. Recipients will submit periodic written status reports with an accounting of funded activities, participant outcomes, and how the grant funds were used.


Funding Cycle

Letter of Inquiry Due: September 15
Application Due: November 15
Notification By: December 15
Checks Mailed By: December 31
Interim Report Due: April 30
Final Report Due: October 31

*If deadline falls on a weekend or holiday, the deadline will be the next business day
